The Zigbee Alliance Announces Rebrand Reflecting an Enhanced Vision to Construct Future IoT with Broad Partnerships

LEEDARSON delivers greeting on the new symbol of Connectivity
The Zigbee Alliance, an organization of hundreds of companies creating, maintaining, and delivering open global standards for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced its organizational rebrand to the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). The organization also announced a second brand, Matter, formerly known to the industry as Project Connected Home over IP (CHIP). As a board member of the Alliance and "early adopter" of Matter (formerly ProjectCHIP), LEEDARSON is looking forward to contributing to the Alliance on a mission to simplify and harmonize the IoT, continuously dedicating to collaborate with other industry leaders as Amazon, IKEA, Signify, Silicon Labs and 180+ IoT companies to unlock the future smarthome, providing secure, interoperable, reliable, simple IoT products for consumers.

About the Connectivity Standards Alliance
The Connectivity Standards Alliance, formerly the Zigbee Alliance, is the foundation and future of the Internet of Things (IoT). With nearly 20 years operating as a global, open standards organization, the Alliance has continued to expand in scale, scope and impact. From the Alliance’s founding technology, Zigbee, to its most recent IP-based standard, Matter, the Alliance has been on a mission to simplify and harmonize the IoT. The Alliance’s technologies are built on solid foundations: openness principles, a common data model, and the expertise of Member companies from across the industry. With this, the Alliance is elevating its brand identity to better align with this role in shaping the future of the IoT by creating world-wide standards that impact the market. Over 350 companies across the globe, spanning the entire IoT value chain, are actively involved in the Connectivity Standards Alliance.

Consumers, businesses and developers success with Matter
From homes to offices, factories to hospitals, connected objects enable us to experience our environments in cohesive, interactive ways. Matter is the foundation for connected things, built around a shared belief that Smart home devices should be secure, reliable, and seamless to use. By building upon Internet Protocol (IP), Matter will enable communication across smart home devices, mobile app and cloud services and to define a specific set of IP-based networking technologies for device certification. Matter makes it easier for device manufacturers to build devices, and to ensure they are compatible with smart home and voice services such as Amazon's Alexa, Apple's HomeKit with Siri, Google's Assistant, SmartThings, and others.
